RIC Director Spotlight

Jeff Stukenborg
WABCO
Reman Engineering Leader
Jeff Stukenborg
What do you do in your current role?
I am the Global Reman Engineering Leader for WABCO Reman Solutions responsible for the international reman engineering teams located in Rochester Hills, Michigan (USA) and Stanowice, Poland.  These reman engineering teams support the development and launch of the extensive global remanufacturing operations in the U.S., Mexico, South America, Poland, and China.  Back in 2010, I was one of the pioneering reman team members to launch the reman engineering teams and facilities in the US and Poland.

How long have you been in the remanufacturing industry?
I have been involved with remanufacturing for nearly 15 years.   In 2010, I was hired by WABCO to develop the company’s remanufacturing product line.

What is your favorite thing about your job?
I greatly enjoy being involved in the entire reman business model, including business development, product development, process development, specifying the equipment, and launching of the actual reman production process.  I love being a “reman disciple” inside WABCO helping to spread the powerful benefits and fundamentals of remanufacturing.

Why did you get involved with RIC?
I was brought into RIC by Joe Kripli, one of my co-workers at WABCO Reman Solutions, when Joe was the Reman Business Development Leader.  I began participating on the RIC R&D Committee.  While working on the committee I was able to work again with Dr. Nasr from RIT.  I jumped at the opportunity to represent WABCO on the RIC Board of Directors, when given the opportunity.  What separates RIC from the other remanufacturing organizations is that it brings together reman experience from several different industries.  I have learned a lot not only from the heavy duty and automotive industry members, but also from team members associated with the furniture, printing, healthcare and other non- transportation industries.
